 Climate Smart Communities CSC

(CSC) is a New York State DEC program that incentivizes local governments take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to a changing climate. There are 3 municipal CSC's and one county (Warren) in this area; another CSC is being requested by Washington County residents. Towns of Queensbury, Lake George and City of Glens Falls have achieved "Bronze status" which is a way the state determines eligibility for emission reducing campaigns and programs and funding/rewards. See www.queensbury.net with the dropdown "residents" for full information about Queensbury
www.dec.ny.gov

Clean Energy Community CEC
a different entity under the aegis of NYS, NYSERDA with clean energy goals and incentives

What is community solar?
community solar allows a resident or a municipality to buy into a solar facility for electrical power at 10% less than National Grid rates

What is CCA (Community Choice Aggregation ) ?
Community Choice Aggregation is an opt out plan for a large number of residents (over 150,000) to chose a reduced rate either brown or green plan for energy generation; if total green is chosen it may end up being as costly as regular energy sourcing to the consumer but greatly more sustainable in terms of energy source.
